A Blackstone affiliate reached an agreement to invest about $3.3 billion in the Leawood-based Tallgrass Energy family of companies.
The investment from Blackstone Infrastructure Partners will include acquiring about a 44 percent ownership stake in Tallgrass Energy LP (NYSE: TGE), a publicly traded entity that receives earnings related to investments in midstream energy infrastructure. The ownership stake comes from Kelso & Co., The Energy & Minerals Group and Tallgrass KC LLC.
