Freed of a consent order and led by a new CEO, Bank of the Prairie once again is focused on growth instead of fixing problems.
Bank of the Prairie was placed under a regulatory order by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner in August 2010, when it was saddled with too many poorly performing loans, mainly in commercial construction. It lost $729,000 in 2010 and $400,000 in the first half of 2011.
