Simmons First National Corp. announced late on Monday that it acquired Metropolitan National Bank through a bidding process overseen by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Arkansas.
The acquisition of Metropolitan National significantly boosts the presence of Simmons First National Bank throughout its home state of Arkansas. Based in Little Rock, Metropolitan National Bank has $991 million in assets and branches in 14 communities throughout Arkansas.
