Terry Matlack, managing director of Leawood-based Tortoise Capital Advisors LLC, was appointed vice chairman of the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS).
KPERS serves as a fiduciary, holding assets in trust and growing them through investment, and then delivering benefits when the time comes. The Kansas Retirement System has 286,000 members and $14 billion in assets.
