Second-quarter numbers show that the Kansas City-area banking market remains healthy and vibrant, though it faces a few underlying challenges.
Lending stands out the most. Area banks had $27.85 billion in loans on the books in the second quarter, more than in any quarter the past five years and up 10.3 percent from 2013.
