Mariner Kemper comes from a long line of bankers, and plenty of knowledge has passed along through the generations, shaping the way UMB Bank looks today.
Kemper’s great-grandfather, William Kemper, bought City Center Bank, the predecessor to UMB Bank, during World War I. His grandfather, R. Crosby Kemper, led the bank from 1919 to 1959. His father, R. Crosby Kemper Jr., took over at that point, and Mariner Kemper's tenure started in 2004.
