With permits awarded to renovate the Kansas City Board of Trade building, it means an uncertain future for two large pieces of art attached to the exterior.
The art includes a 17-foot high sculpture called “Sheaves of Wheat” which was created by the renowned Kansas City artist Jac T. Bowen in 1966. The other piece, the award-winning “Heartland Harvest,” is a 50-foot-tall copper sculpture designed by architect and Roeland Park Mayor Joel Marquardt in 1999.
