Bill Nelson will be laid to rest Wednesday, leaving a huge void in numerous business and civic activities in the Kansas City area.
Nelson moved to Kansas City in 1988 to lead Boatmen's First National Bank of Kansas City, which later became Bank of America. With strong charisma, endless energy and a hands-on approach, he quickly turned the entity into one of the largest banks in town.
