Kansas and Missouri played a key role in driving the overall number of rounds of golf played in the United States in May. The total rose 1.9 percent, the first month this year to experience an increase from last year.
Kansas saw a 35.1 percent increase in rounds played in May, the second-highest rate in the nation, according to the PGA PerformanceTrak report. It helped that Kansas saw a 17.3 percent increase in the numbers of days golf courses were open, the highest jump in the nation.
