After a 44-year career in financial services, Clyde Wendel plans to retire July 1 from his role as vice chairman of UMB Bank and CEO of Global Asset Management at parent company UMB Financial Corp. Wendel, 66, joined UMB in 2006 after 28 years at Bank of America and its prior iterations. Before that he spent 10 years at American Express, mostly overseas, living in cities such as Frankfurt, Rome and Singapore.
