Only one bank based in the Kansas City area made SNL Financial's list of 100 Top Performing Banks in 2013 with less than $500 million in assets.
Wells Bank of Platte City ranked 14th on the list, up two spots from the previous year.
The study looks at asset size, return on assets, charge-offs per total loans, efficiency ratio (expenses/revenues), Texas ratio (problem loans/equity capital and reserves), net interest margin and loan growth rate.
