Compass Minerals makes $85M acquisition

In an effort to boost its fertilizer business, Compass Minerals International Inc. made an $85 million acquisition. The Overland Park-based producer of minerals such as salt, magnesium chloride and sulfate of potash specialty fertilizers, announced that it acquired Wolf Trax Inc. in Winnepeg, Manitoba, in an all cash deal.
