H&R Block Inc. posted a 57.7 percent drop in tax services revenues for its third quarter, which ended Jan. 31, but it was mainly attributable the Internal Revenue Service delaying the opening of its e-file system until Jan. 31.
The Kansas City-based tax preparer said it has about $277 million in revenue from tax returns that were prepared in the third quarter but weren’t filed until after the quarter ended. The revenue from those returns will show up in the fourth quarter, which ends April 30.…
