Commerce Bank not only was knocked out of the top spot in the J.D. Power and Associates U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study for the Midwest Region, it dropped all the way to ninth place.
The drop is surprising, considering that Commerce topped the list in the Midwest Region for four of the past five years. This year, it posted a score of 781, which is still much higher than the Midwest average of 755.
UMB posted a 776, resulting in a drop to 10th place after a second-place finish last year.
