Ford Motor Co.'s 2015 F-150, with a design that uses new materials, will lead to an additional multimillion-dollar investment in the company's Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo.
Plant manager Dan Jowiski said the new F-150 will require new equipment, tooling and process changes to the facility toward the end of this year.
The 2015 F-150 is 700 pounds lighter than the previous model, achieved by combining high-strength steel with military-grade aluminum alloys throughout the body.
