General Motors Co. Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson, who plans to retire in January, obviously is thinking about his legacy as leader of the largest U.S. automobile manufacturer.
According to a transcript of Akerson's speech to the National Press Club on Monday, he outlined decades-old problems GM faced when he took over in 2010.
