H&R Block Inc. reported a net loss of $103 million in its fiscal year 2014 second quarter ended Oct. 31, a two percent higher loss than last year.
The Kansas City-based tax preparer typically posts a loss during its second quarter, due to the seasonality of the business.
The company reported revenues of $134.34 million, down 2.1 percent from a year ago. Expenses were up 4.2 percent to $314.96 million.
