Simmons First National adds $1B in assets

Simmons First National Corp., the parent company for Simmons First National Bank, announced Tuesday that it completed the $53.6 million acquisition of Metropolitan National Bank. The acquisition of Little Rock, Ark.-based Metropolitan National adds about $991 million in assets to Simmons First National, increasing its size by about 50 percent.
