The United Auto Workers met with representatives of Ford Motor Co. on Monday afternoon to kick off negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement.
UAW President Gary Jones and Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford shook hands for a photo op, and it didn’t take long for the two sides to start firing.
Jones gave a speech at the event accusing U.S. automakers of instigating a “race to the bottom” and asking for more labor concessions despite posting record profits.
