The annual J.D. Power U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction study, which showed that only 4 percent of bank customers switched banks last year, listed Kansas City-based UMB Bank as the top-ranked local bank for customer satisfaction in the Midwest region.
UMB Bank scored 820 out of a possible 1,000 points in the retail banking satisfaction index. Commerce Bank was the only other bank based in the Kansas City area to make the list, scoring 814 points.
