As a female bank executive, Linda Hanson spent her entire career with few peers in the financial services industry to turn to for advice.
That hasn’t really changed, even today. Women make up 56.7 percent of employment at U.S. commercial banks, but they represent only 48 percent of first- to midlevel managers and only 30.8 percent of senior executives, according to a 2018 study from Catalyst.
