The University of Missouri-Kansas City is being sued by a former dental student who claims the school’s appeals process is unfair.
Afsaneh Momtahan was automatically dismissed in May 2017 after failing to maintain a grade-point average of at least 2.5 for two consecutive semesters. Momtahan received a 2.225 in her first semester and 2.326 in her second semester. The school allows students to appeal to the Academic Standards Committee for readmittance, which she did.
