Overall, Small Business Administration lending in the Kansas City area declined about 5.4 percent to $336.4 million in fiscal year 2013, despite the top lenders in the area significantly increasing their activity.
Although the overall amount of loans declined this fiscal year, SBA lending in the area was still the third highest in history, down from a record high of $409.1 million in 2011 and $355.4 million in 2012. The SBA’s fiscal year runs from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30.
