Tom Butch played a major league role in landing a special advanced screening of the movie “42” in Kansas City.
The movie depicts the story of Jackie Robinson, who became the first African-American baseball player in Major League Baseball in 1947, taking the number 42. But before that, Robinson first wore No. 5 for the Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues.
