Inspired by a tour of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, American Century Investments minority owner Nomura Holdings asked the Kansas City-based company to help it create a specialty investment fund for the Japanese market that is focused on health care.
The result was creation of the Nomura ACI Advanced Medical Impact Fund, which attracted $790 million in investment since it was launched on Oct. 23. It has been one of the largest and most successful fund launches in Japan in 2018.
