The Federal Reserve Bank is now accepting public comments on its plans to make to biggest change to the U.S. payments system since the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system was installed in 1974.
The goal is to modernize the nation's payment system to be able to provide a faster, safer, reliable and more ubiquitous solutions in the digital era.
