Lifted Spirits, a Kansas City craft distillery at 1734 Cherry St., is about to release the first absinthe made in the area.
Absinthe is a high-proof liquor, traditionally made with three core ingredients: wormwood, fennel and anise. It has an herbal, floral and black licorice flavor. Lifted Spirits Traditional Absinthe Verte includes its own twists, adding spearmint, peppermint, chamomile and hibiscus to the mix.
