Lenexa-based Tradewind Energy Inc. sold plans for a $250 million wind energy construction project in Iowa to Alliant Energy Corp. (NYSE: LNT) for an undisclosed amount.
The English Farms Wind Project, which is located 60 miles east of Des Moines, will have capacity to generate 170 megawatts of electricity a year, enough to power about 50,000 homes. It consists of 69 wind turbines on 15,180 acres. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2018.
