A former partner and CPA for an accounting firm in Leawood pleaded guilty to filing false personal tax returns.
Robert Purinton, 69, admitted to making a false statement on his 2009 tax return by under reporting his income by about $202,000. He agreed to make restitution of $71,543 for the taxes due that year. He also agreed to pay $34,512 in restitution for 2010, though he did not plead guilty to any criminal activity that year.
