Overland Park-based CapWest Mortgage was acquired for an undisclosed amount by Prospect Mortgage LLC.
Based in Sherman Oaks, Calif., Prospect Mortgage is one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the nation and is owned by Sterling Partners, a $5 billion private equity firm. CapWest, which employs about 85 people and was founded about 10 years ago, was a division of 107-year-old Farmers Bank & Trust, a $751.8 million-asset bank based in Great Bend, Kan.
