BATS Global Markets announced that recently hired president Chris Concannon will add the role of CEO to his responsibilities.
Effective March 31, Concannon will replace current CEO Joe Ratterman, who will become the company's chairman.
Ratterman, who co-founded the company, has been CEO for the past eight years and has seen BATS grow to become the world's second-largest stock exchange operation. Ratterman will remain closely involved in the company, assisting in the transition.
